CAUGHT on camera... the armed raider
POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they are looking for following a robbery at a betting shop in Royton last month.
Two men knocked on the door of Coral Bookmakers on Market Square at about 7.40pm on March 29.
They were buzzed in but one man stayed at the door while the other walked backwards into the shop holding a gun. All the staff ran into the back room as the gunman ran up to the tills and jumped over the counter, demanding money.
The staff waited until it was quiet before going back into the shop where they discovered the man had emptied the tills and ran off down Rochdale Road.
Det-Con Paul Cockburn, of Oldham CID, said: “The staff did the right thing by getting to a safe area.
“If you know the person pictured or have any information about this crime, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information should call police on 0161-856 8951 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
