BUDDING bards took to a different stage on Saturday during a ‘Taste of Shakespeare’ event at Christ Church, in Chadderton.
Students from Crompton House School, Royton and Crompton School and Chadderton Primary School performed excerpts from famous plays including “Macbeth”, “Much Ado about Nothing” and lesser known sonnets during the event held inside the church.
Shakespeare workshops were also held for teenagers and children.
The event, held on Shakespeare’s birthday weekend, was organised by John Simmons, vicar of Christ Church, and Oldham Coliseum to encourage local residents to become more familiar with the works of the famous bard.
