A baroness greeted voters in High Crompton this week as she supported Liberal Democrat candidate Elwyn Watkins.

Baroness Rosalind Scott of Needham Market, who is president of the Liberal Democrat party, canvassed in High Crompton to support Mr Watkins’ bid for the marginal Oldham East and Saddleworth seat.

Elwyn said: “Ros is really well-known in the party as a keen doorstep campaigner.

“As a party we are founded on pavement politics and listening to people so it is always a pleasure to have someone like Ros up supporting us once again.”
