Store workers’ Spindles jobs go

SIX jobs will go at the end of June when the Homestyle store closes in the Spindles Shopping Centre, Oldham.
The store opened last year in the Lower Mall in what was formerly Roseby’s and will operate a closing down sale until the end of June.
J W Carpenter Ltd owns the Cargo and Homestyle retail brands and operates 66 shops under the Cargo and Homestyle brands selling furniture, furnishings and homewares.
The company was founded in 1876, based in Thame, Oxfordshire, and employs more than 600 people.
Managing director Clive Gilbert said: “We are extremely disappointed to be closing our Oldham store as we had high hopes for its success.
“The team has worked tremendously hard to make a success of the venture and we are now working with them to try and secure alternative employment within our group.”
J W Carpenter Ltd. is part of the Steinhoff UK Group which also operates the Harvey’s, Bensons for Beds, Sleepmasters, Reid and Bedshed retail brands.
