Riders no longer blinkered by traffic
Date published: 29 April 2010
Horse riders should get better views when crossing Huddersfield Road at Delph after new waiting restrictions are imposed.
The riders have asked Oldham Council for help at the Rumbles Lane and Lark Hill junction.
The crossing point is part of a route used by horse riders as an alternative to the main road linking Delph and Dobcross.
The crossing may also soon become part of the link to the Pennine Bridleway which runs through Saddleworth, and officers expect an increase in use by recreational riders.
Parking near Jumbles Lane also causes problems for motorists trying to get out on to Huddersfield Road. The restrictions will prevent parking for short stretches on both sides of Rumbles Lane.
