Fighting for the UK’s Christian values

ELECTION 2010

Campaign statement: Gulzar Nazir, Christian Party candidate, Oldham East and Saddleworth

THE most important election for decades is just around the corner and I would like to persuade you to vote for the Christian Party.

I was born in Pakistan and I have been a Christian all my life.

Since I came over here I have noticed that the policies in place are not benefiting the Christian community.

The Government only focuses on the majority and is not sticking to the roots of the country — which are that England is a Christian country and has never changed and it never will.

In my opinion, the country is losing its Christian values; which makes me very upset. I believe that all the communities should come together to pull through these tough times in our lives.

Immigration

::Negotiated agreement with the EU to apply the immigration points system to migrants from the European Union, or in the event of non-agreement declare a unilateral change in immigration policy.

::Make private health insurance a visa requirement for immigrants.

::Initiate a No (private sector) Home — No Visa policy.

::Call for a binding referendum on Britain’s continued membership of the European Union.

Social Security

::Reform the benefit system to eradicate the risk associated with leaving the welfare system and entering work. This would be accomplished by suspending benefit claims for a period of nine months rather than closing them when an unemployed person gains employment. .

Defence

::Maintain a well resourced military with a nuclear deterrent.

::Withdraw British troops from Afghanistan.

::Support an enabling role for British military training personnel, by way of providing military training for the Afghan army.

::Fight for improvement in care and support for ex-servicemen and women.

Law and order

::Clarify and correct legislation to establish the right of parents and families to protect their homes from criminals.

::Promote initiatives to foster civic pride and community ownership of our streets, and reject the hampering of such initiatives on health and safety grounds.

::Abolish race equality laws, sexual orientation equality laws, and gender equality laws so that there are no special benefits for special interest groups, but justice for all.

Education

::Ensure that the United Kingdom’s Christian heritage is properly reflected in the National Curriculum.

::Link the funding of university courses to the medium and long-term needs of society and the economy through consultation with industry and community leaders.

::Call for sex education classes to be given only to secondary school children on a parental opt-in basis.
