‘Go Yellow’ to raise funds
Date published: 04 May 2010
DR Kershaw’s is urging supporters to “go yellow” in a bid to raise much-needed funds.
A novel fundraising idea will be launched by the hospice on Friday when staff turn out in yellow to welcome the summer.
Supporters are being sought to join in the fun by hosting their own yellow party at home, work or school.
Fundraiser Allegra Holbrook is calling on groups of friends to take it in turns to host yellow dinner parties, with guests handing over a secret donation at the end of the evening to boost hospice funds.
Diners will be urged to increase the amount of their donation with their enjoyment of the party, and the host with the most at the end of the run will be declared winner.
Dr Kershaw’s will host the first yellow party on Friday, when staff and volunteers will each pay £1 to wear yellow.
Those who break the rules will be subject to a forfeit, so anyone who visits the hospice on Friday is being urged to help spot staff who are not wearing yellow.
