Positive steps on St Mary’s
Date published: 06 May 2010
Young people from St Mary’s estate have been spring cleaning their area.
Groundwork Oldham and Rochdale’s Youth Inclusion Project saw seven youngsters spend two hours filling bags with rubbish around Horsedge Street and Wilson Way.
Hayley Connolly, from the environmental charity, said: “It was nice to see so many young people get involved.
“It gave them a real sense of pride.”
St Mary’s Youth Inclusion Project was launched in April, last year, and is a partnership between Positive Steps Oldham and Groundwork. It has already engaged with 50 youngsters.
