Hospice hunts for Oldham’s top dog

THE search is on to find the “Top Dog” of Oldham.
Fundraisers are calling on Oldham’s four-legged residents to do their bit to raise vital cash for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
The occasion is a dog walk and picnic in Tandle Hill Country Park, Royton, with a prize for the best canine fancy dress.
The crowning event will be the naming of Oldham’s “Top Dog,” determined by the number of votes cast for the borough’s favourite pooch.
It costs a penny a vote, with all proceeds going to the Royton hospice.
Votes can be collected before the event, and the winner will get a special award and a £20 Pets at Home gift card.
All dogs taking part will receive a commemorative certificate.
Tickets for the event are £10 per person, with family tickets (for two adults and two children) at £30.
The cost includes the picnic and the certificate, and dogs attend for free.
The walk is on Sunday, July 25, and entry packs are available from Allegra Holbrook on 0161-624 9984, e-mail allegra@drkershawshospice.org.uk
