Date published: 10 May 2010
UPPERMILL Band has continued its winning form with two more trophies.
Members scooped first place at the Buxton Band Contest, along with the trophy for the highest placed member of the North-West Area Brass Bands Association.
This follows its success at Holme Valley Band Contest, Holmfirth, last month where it won the best hymn tune, best trombone section, best conductor and second place in the test piece. The band is now preparing for the Saddleworth Whit Friday Band Contest and Whit Sunday when it will accompany St John’s Hey Church.
