AN inspirational healthcare development manager is heading to the Guildhall in London on Saturday to compete in the Great British National Homecare finals.
Yvonne Tomlinson (45), a quality and development manager from Domus Healthcare Oldham, has worked her way up from area trainer at the firm since October, 2008.
Mrs Tomlinson, of Hall Street, Oldham, won the Great British Care Awards’ Care Trainer gong for the North in November, 2009. The judges comments of Yvonne read: “Enormous enthusiasm, high standards and clear vision have enabled Yvonne to dramatically change the approach to training, inspiring staff and improving standards of care.”
She now faces stiff competition from seven other finalists in the national Care Trainer category. Mrs Tomlinson, who has four children and one grand-daughter, said: “I’m fully aware they will all be extremely good.
“I’ve done everything I can, so now I have to wait until the evening”.
Domus Healthcare, based in Windsor Works, Hall Street, which purchased Helpful Hands homecare in May, 2009, is currently celebrating its first anniversary in Oldham, where staff provide 2,000 hours of care per week under contract with Oldham Council.
