FOUR people have been arrested after shots were fired during an armed robbery at the Hartshead Inn in Mossley.
Three men armed with a shotgun demanded cash at the Mossley Road pub and restaurant, before escaping in a silver Mini shortly before 10.30pm on Sunday. No one was injured.
A short-time later CCTV operators spotted people leaving a Mini in the car park of a Hyde hotel and going inside.
Armed police stopped a man and woman and arrested them on suspicion of robbery. The man was wearing body armour and ammunition was discovered in his pockets.
Another man and woman were arrested in a hotel room, and a firearm and cash were recovered.
All four remain in police custody for questioning.
Insp Andrew Holmes, from the Firearms Unit, said: “Anyone prepared to discharge a shotgun represents a very real threat to our community.”
