Students win top honours

SUPER students were thanked for all their hard work in the community at this year’s Student of the Year Awards.
Robert Jackson (15), from The Radclyffe School, won the 11-15 years award while Abdullah Al-Moshin (18), from Oldham Sixth Form College, won the 16+ award.
The pair were nominated for their outstanding services to the community, voluntary work and extra-curricular activity, and each won a laptop computer.
Runners-up were David Taylor, from Hulme Grammar School, in the 16+ category and Nathan Connor, from Kaskenmoor, in the 11-15 category, and they each won £100.
Oldham College student Ann-Marie Yates also received a special mention for her achievements by the judges.
The awards are run by the Rotary Club of Oldham and this year were sponsored by Inclusive Technology of Delph.
Martin Littler, chairman and chief executive, said: “It is a great pleasure to be able to sponsor these awards in recognition of these student’s remarkable achievements in supporting their communities.”
