Schools merger close
Date published: 14 May 2010
PLANS to merge Hodge Clough infant and junior schools in Moorside are a step closer. An official public notice has been published to close the two on December 31.
They will be replaced with a single Hodge Clough Primary School in the current junior school premises in Wilkes Street.
It will cater for 420 pupils and also have the equivalent of 26 full-time nursery school places.
The move is part of plans to reduce surplus primary school places in Moorside, Watersheddings and Derker.
