“HOLLYOAKS” hunks are out for revenge in a charity football match at Boundary Park.
Stars from the Channel Four soap donned their football boots in January to take on Oldham Sunday League team Northside AFC — but lost 3-1.

The actors were keen for a rematch and the definite winner will be charity with proceeds going to Francis House Children’s Hospice and Northside’s own junior football teams.

The game takes place at Oldham Athletic’s ground on Wednesday, with gates open at 6.45pm and kick-off at 7.45pm.

There also promises to be plenty of fun with Big Al from Revolution Radio attending and a half-time raffle and penalty shoot-out with Fred the Red and Chaddy the Owl as goalkeepers.

The previous match took place at Northside’s Broadway ground, at Chadderton, with around 1,000 people attending and £3,000 raised. Northside are hoping for a bigger attendance this time, with around 700 tickets already sold, and to raise even more money.

Stars expected to play include Oldham-born “Strictly Come Dancing” star Ricky Whittle, Oldham-based Nico Mirallegro who plays Newt, Anthony Quinlan who plays Gilly, Nick Pritchard who plays Tony, “Dancing on Ice” runner-up Chris Fountain, Jamie Lomas who played Warren and Sonny Flood who plays Josh.

Organiser Nathan Ashcroft said: “They are looking to avenge their 3-1 defeat.

“ It’s going to be a bit of a laugh and good fun. The main thing is raising money for Francis House and the junior arm of our football team. We just want to give them the best facilities possible.

“Alan Hardy at Oldham Athletic is more than happy for us to put the game on at Boundary Park and being a bigger ground we are hoping to get more people attending.”

Tickets cost £5 adults and £2.50 Under 16s and OAPs with under fives free. Contact Nathan on 07823-773499 or available from Oldham’s Zutti, Oldham’s Rhino Gym or Failsworth’s Boardman Brothers.
