MOSSLEY model and TV presenter Melanie Sykes is “made up” after landing a job as a Radio 2 presenter.
The mother-of-two, whose parents live in Diggle, is to team up with Alan Carr for his Saturday evening show after former co–host Emma Forbes quit.
She took over for an eight–week stint on the two–hour show Going Out With Alan Carr at the weekend.
Carr said he was thrilled about his new colleague, adding: “With her northern twang complementing my butch undertones, it truly is a match made in radio heaven.”
Melanie said: “I think Alan’s hilarious and have always loved working on radio, so this is like a dream come true for me.”
She has been a presenter for Channel 4’s “The Big Breakfast”, had a lengthy stint fronting a daytime ITV show with Des O’Connor and has presented her own show for Galaxy FM. She rose to fame for her “by ‘eck, it’s gorgeous” Boddington’s beer ads.
