Wear yellow to boost hospice funds!

WEAR yellow . . . that’s the plea from Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, which has launched a novel fund-raising idea to boost vital funds.

The Royton hospice set the ball rolling when staff and volunteers donated money in return for wearing the summery colour. Fund-raisers are now urging Oldhamers to follow suit and organise their own yellow party at home, work or school.

Hospice fund-raiser Allegra Holbrook said the more inventive the idea the better, and suggested yellow dinner parties, with yellow-clad guests judging the evening by giving a secret donation at the end of the night — the most money for the best food. The host with the most at the end of the round of dinner parties will be declared winner, and the proceeds handed over to the hospice.
