A new car has been donated to the Saddleworth and Lees Neighbourhood Police team by local construction company owner, Phil Wiggett.
The Vauxhall Astra, which has cost the company £10,000, will be used by local officers for day-to-day policing work in the community. Phil Wiggett said: “We try and get involved in a lot of local things and this is the biggest.
“The local police do a great job in Saddleworth and if we can help and be supportive of them and the local community, then that’s great.” The vehicle replaces another car, which has done 70,000 miles since it was sponsored by the same company five years ago.
Wiggett Construction was initially asked to sponsor a vehicle after it completed building the Uppermill Police station five years ago. Insp Danny Milovanovic said he was incredibly grateful for the donation.
