ACCIDENT-FREE . . . delivery drivers Mike Alker and Andy Clegg
WARBURTONS delivery drivers have clocked up 670,000 accident-free miles — enough to take them to the moon and back three times.
The drivers, based at the Glebe Street bakery in Shaw, are now the safest fleet in the Warburtons family and were invited to a dinner at the Royal Toby Hotel in Rochdale to mark their achievement.
Ray Milner, who has clocked up 25 years of safe driving, and Andy Clegg, who has 18 accident-free years under his belt, were singled out for special praise.
Mark Platt, sales distribution manager, said: “We are very pleased to have a fleet of such safe drivers and 670,000 is an impressive distance.
“That’s the equivalent of driving 27 times around the world, 162 times over the Great Wall of China or nearly three times to the moon.”
