ROAD safety chiefs from the police and council rolled into Christ Church Primary School to help pupils brush up on their highway knowledge when they named Denshaw “Village of the Month” this week.
With a helping of colour and dash of fun, the youngsters learned all about the importance of “stop, look and listen” when crossing the road.
Neighbourhood manager Lisa Macdonald said: “Denshaw is a small village but the police are split between the wards equally and it gets the same amount attention as other places.
“A lot of people live there but don’t work or shop there, but the community is very active and I hope people appreciate this week’s focus.”
Having its time in the spotlight, the village will also play host to the monthly PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meeting at the village hall tonight from 8pm.
Other events this week have included a health walk and sports taster sessions at the village hall.
