A GREAT-GRANDMOTHER has died eight weeks after celebrating her 100th birthday.
Doris Sledge, who was born in Chadderton, spent her early years at the Hare and Hounds pub where her grandfather was the landlord.
She married her late husband Tom at Christ Church, Chadderton, in 1936 and the couple had a daughter, Eileen, in 1943.
The family moved to Failsworth where Doris worked as a school dinner lady.
She moved to Harrogate four years ago to be nearer her daughter and died on May 17.
The funeral will be held at Stonefall Crematorium, Harrogate, at 1.40pm tomorrow.
