Saddleworth Parish Council’s new chairman Keith Begley and his his, Jenny, lead the procession
A PROCESSION through Delph and civic service marked the first official act of Saddleworth Parish Council’s new chairman Keith Begley.
He was joined by church leaders, civic dignitaries, friends and family for the circular route on Sunday.
The procession went from Delph Methodist Church to St Thomas’s Church, Moorside, with musical accompaniment by Delph Brass Band.
Both churches played a part in the special day, with a civic service inside St Thomas’s Church followed by reception at Delph Methodist.
Councillor Begley said: “Both churches were involved because I live right in the middle of them and have good links with both.
“The procession was a good welcome to my new post and a great start to the year ahead.”
