AIR cadets from 317 Failsworth & Newton Heath Squadron are on cloud nine after flying a tutor aircraft as part of their training.
Conditions were perfect at RAF Woodvale in Merseyside for a dozen teenagers who were also able to try out gliders as an added bonus. Among those who took part were new recruits Melvin Armitage, Paul Roberts and Joseph Hughes.
Air Cadets offers 13 to 17-year-olds the opportunity of not only flying and gliding but also sailing, shooting and adventure training.
The squadron meets from 7.30 until 9.30pm on Wednesdays and Fridays at Failsworth TA Centre, Oldham Road.
Anyone who would like to join should contact Flt Lt Sam Young on 0161-688 6705 or email oc.317@aircadets.org
