Tandem cyclist Dominic Gill was back in Oldham to launch his new book about his American adventures.
He was at Mountainfeet, the specialist outdoor clothes and equipment retailer in Rhodes Bank, where he signed copies of the book and gave a talk about his adventures cycling the length of north and south America.
Dominic, from Lune Street, Coppice, left Oldham in June, 2006, rode through 15 countries and gave a lift to some 500 strangers on the back of his bike.
The journey took him two years and two months on his tandem — nicknamed Achilles — which was loaded with his camping gear and clothes.
He is pictured signing copies of his book - called ‘Take a Seat’ - with (from the left) Tom Coleman, David Emanuel, Frank Green, shop owner Simon Taylor, and Alistair Whittaker.
