SPECIALIST sports equipment was presented to members of the Oldham Owls Disabled Sports Club at the BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester.
A total of 13 sports wheelchairs were donated to the team following a charity partnership between the Hilton in the Community Foundation and the Lord’s Taverners charity. The Foundation’s flagship ball at the London Hilton hotel saw £220,000 raised for the Taverners’ Disability Sports Appeal.
Oldham Owls, whose members compete at all levels including in the Paralympics, will use the wheelchairs for a range of sports including basketball.
