SWASHBUCKLING Sara Fielding hit the fund-raising trail ahead of a charity trek on the Great Wall of China.
She is among the eight people who have signed up to tackle the five-day walk in aid of Dr Kerhsaw’s Hospice, Each has to raise a minimum of £2,900 to take part and Sara boosted her sponsorship with a fancy dress day.
She turned up to work at outdoor clothing shop Trespass kitted out as a pirate — with staff from other businesses in the Spindles and Town Square Shopping Centre also joining in the fun.
The trek takes place in October and Sara (23), who lives in Oldham town centre, said: “I try to do as much as I can for Dr Kershaw’s. I know a lot of people who have had family or friends in in the hospice.
“I thought I would be able to raise a lot of money for them and do something brilliant at the same time.”
The former Counthill and Oldham Sixth-Form College pupil previously completed a midnight walk for the charity and added: “I am really excited, I can’t wait. I have been going to the gym quite a lot to get my energy up and my fitness up, and I have been planning some long treks.
“About a month ago I walked to Huddersfield with my mum and that was hard, but I think I should be OK because I like to do a lot of walking anyway.
“You have got the option of a free foot massage at the end of the trek!”
