BEST foot forward... walkers filed past armed services representatives as they set out from Coalshaw Green Park
On the march for charity
CHARITY walkers shrugged off the showers to pound the pavements in aid of Help for Heroes.
Fund-raisers sallied forth from Chadderton’s Coalshaw Green Park, heralded by Chadderton Town Cryer Reg Lord.
The “Chadderton Walks for Heroes” event took them to Foxdenton Park, then to Chadderton Hall Park, and back to Coalshaw Green.
Walkers covered around six miles on the route.
The event, which marked the anniversary of D-Day, was particularly poignant for those who took part and armed service representatives who held standards aloft at the start.
