Witness appeal

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a road crash yesterday morning in which a 39-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries.
At about 11.45am, a VW Caddy van being driven by a 52-year-old man was travelling along the A62 Huddersfield Road at Waterhead when it hit a man on a bike.
The cyclist, who is from Oldham, was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital where he remains in a serious condition. No-one else was injured.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call the road policing unit on 0161-856 8809.
