COME on England . . . Reece Lord (9) and Ethan Lord (13) cheer on their father Kelvin’s World Cup wagons
Haulier shows his support for our World Cup team
ENGLAND soccer stars Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have been spotted in Oldham — on the side of a pair of lorries.
With just days to go before this year’s World Cup kicks off in South Africa, a haulage company owner has had images of the striker and two midfielders painted on his vehicles.
Patriotic Kelvin Lord (39), owner of general haulage company KL Transport, decided to get transfers made of the England team captain Gerrard and fellow team mates just in time for England’s first match with the USA on Saturday. A rousing “Come On England” and England’s Three Lions motif have also made it on to the side of the vehicles.
He said: “I picked those players because I knew they’d be definites for the team.
“The transfers will stay on the vehicles for as long as England do well.”
Mr Lord, from Moorside, Oldham, has painted his other 12 trucks with a variety of iconic Oldham images ranging from the town’s cotton mills to Oldham Athletic’s Boundary Park.
The general haulage company also provides lorries and trailers for Oldham Carnival and sponsors local sports clubs.
