Roving bishop gets a warm welcome

St George’s Church in Chadderton was the latest church to welcome the Bishop of Manchester on his pilgrimage around the diocese.
The Rt Rev Nigel McCulloch was welcomed to the Broadway church by the Vicar, the Ref Dave Leaf, along with the Mayor and Mayoress of Oldham, Councillor David Jones and Mrs Jean Jones.
The Bishop is taking part in his Run the Race pilgrimage around all Greater Manchester’s churches, when he carries the distinctive baton from the Manchester Commonwealth Games.
Parishioners welcomed their guests with a buffet and evening service.
