LUCKY Chronicle reader Janet Weigh tried out her new bed for size — with the help of Oldham Roughyeds coach Tony Benson.
Janet, of Belmont Avenue, Springhead, won a bed of her choice from G & G Carpet Warehouse and Bed Centre in Lees, in a Chronicle competition, correctly answering that Tony came from New Zealand.
She also won two VIP tickets to a Roughyeds league match of her choice.
Gary and Joanne Smith established G & G Carpet Warehouse on its present site in the centre of Lees 12 years ago.
They recently branched out into beds, and Janet called into the company’s showrooms at Unit 2, Jackson Street, Lees, to choose her prize, and meet the Kiwi coach.
She said: “I was very surprised when I found out I had won, I have never won a competition before.” Her husband David is a Roughyeds fan, and is looking forward to being guest of honour at a match.
“He hasn’t been so much since Roughyeds moved from Watersheddings, but he always reads about them in the Chronicle,” said Janet.
