Callum’s dance marathon

LET’S dance . . . Callum Penny with fellow pupils
YOUNG performers were inspired by friend Callum Penney to hit the dance floor for a staggering six hours.
The children from the Academy School of Performing Arts, Hollinwood, took part in a danceathon in aid of the Lymphoma Association.
They wanted to support the society after fellow pupil Callum was diagnosed with a slow growing form Hodgkin’s disease.
The seven-year-old is in remission after undergoing six months of chemotherapy during which he continued to attend the academy and Higher Failsworth Primary School. Sponsorship money is still being collected and academy volunteer Pauline Smith said: “We had parents, family and friends popping in to take part in the tombola and watch the children dance. It was very enjoyable and very tiring!”
