A CARE worker from Oldham has won an award from his employers for helping improve communications with older people with hearing impairments.
Peter Marsh is an advocacy worker with the Generation Project in East Manchester, which helps older vulnerable people to improve, maintain and adapt their properties so they can continue living independently in their own homes.
The project is part of Care and Repair, the not-for-profit company which works closely with Manchester City Council.
Mr Marsh was nominated for investigating how minicom facilities could assist hard of hearing people to contact the company more effectively, and publicising its portable hearing loop and type-talk facilities more widely.
He received his award during a special meal and event at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.
