HUNDREDS of parents and pupils turned out in force to meet the new principal of the Waterhead Academy, — which is due to replace Breeze Hill and Counthill schools in September.
Close to 800 parents packed into the halls of Breeze Hill and Counthill schools along with many pupils to meet David Yates and hear of the progress on the Academy project.
Mr Yates talked about the plans for the curriculum, the uniform, the school day and the new term dates.
Parents also received a presentation from the lead architect from Willmott Dixon responsible for designing the new building for Waterhead.
Mr Yates said: “I am delighted to see so many parents attending these sessions at both Breeze Hill and Counthill schools.
“I believe my key role is to ensure three things for our new Academy: to make sure all pupils have the opportunity to be happy, be safe and be successful and achieve their full potential.
“Meeting parents and understanding their aspirations for our Academy is very important and something I am committed to continue with further parents meetings already in the diary.”
