Claw hammer gang steal rings in raid on jewellers

ROBBERS used claw hammers to smash cabinets and steal a large number of rings from a Werneth jewellers.
One of the offenders, rang the bell at the shop in Werneth Hall Road and when the door at Maveed Jewellers was opened, three men ran in.
Det Cons Simon Halliwell of Oldham CID said: “Thankfully no one was injured at the shop, but a large amount of rings were stolen. The offenders will now be trying to sell these on so I would ask if anyone is offered rings for sale, please let us know, it could help us find the people responsible.”
The gang ran out of the shop and took off in the Toyota Corolla, driven by a fourth offender, which was found a short time later in Suthers Court, Werneth. The car had been stolen from Sollihull, West Midlands.
