Sports club scores with minibus
Date published: 22 June 2010
OLDHAM’S Greenhill Community Sports Club is celebrating after buying a minibus to transport its young members.
The club, which was formed in 2004, and now has football, cricket, rugby, tennis and netball teams, won the funding from Oldham’s Youth Opportunity Fund “Kerrching” and from the East Oldham District Partnership.
The key was handed over to the club by Adil Mohammed, former youth mayor of Oldham.
The Youth Opportunity Fund money is part of the Government’s Aiming High for Young People strategy, investing in areas across the country so that young people have places to go and things to do all year round.
