Cyclist in serious condition

A CYCLIST was said to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital this morning after suffering a head injury in a road smash.
A Ford Escort hit the cyclist in Ripponden Road, Grains Bar, at 4.40pm yesterday.
The 30-year-old male driver of the car was also taken to hospital after complaining of heart trouble.
He has since been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident and remains in police custody for questioning.
