TWO security guards were targeted in a vicious racist attack in an Oldham park.
The guards were patrolling Stoneleigh Park in Derker when they saw a number of youths on the roof of a shed in the bowling green area.
They remonstrated with the youths, who set upon the two guards.
One was attacked with a bottle, and both men suffered cuts and bruising and were racially abused. The incident happened at around 9.45pm on June 11.
A 19-year-old man, a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl have been arrested on suspicion of serious assault and released on bail.
Det Sgt Tim Taylor said: “These guards were simply doing their job when they were attacked and racially abused, which is absolutely repugnant.
“I would like to assure anyone reading this that, although we have made arrests, our investigations will continue until we have identified everyone involved.
“I would also appeal to anyone who has information about these attacks to come forward.”
Anyone with information should contact Oldham CID on 0161-856 8952 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
