Three arrested in police crackdown

THESE are some of the drugs seized in a police crackdown on drugs and anti-social behaviour in Coldhurst and Westwood.

Officers arrested three people and seized drugs and cars after executing four warrants at Plato Street, Prospect Road, Woodend Street and Edith Street.

They recovered a significant amount of cannabis, Class A drugs and counterfeit money.

Two of the men arrested have been released on police bail pending further inquiries. Another man was given a warning for possession of cannabis.

Officers also seized three cars and carried out a number of stop and searches.

Insp Alan Humphries, of Oldham West Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This is a great result for the team, as well as for our community who have told us that drug dealing and anti-social behaviour are their priority concerns.

“As part of our commitment to the Policing Pledge, we have listened to those concerns, and this activity is just part of the hard work that is going on to tackle these issues, ensuring we rid the streets of drugs and improve the quality of life for our residents.

“The public’s help is vital in helping us target offenders. I would like to thank residents for providing us with information and also encourage them to continue to come forward.

“I hope that these arrests reassure the community that we will act on their concerns and on their information.
