Sister act homes in on children’s charity
Date published: 23 June 2010
TWO Saddleworth sisters are on a high-level mission . . . to raise funds for a needy children’s charity.
Amanda and Beverley Flynn, from Grasscroft, are members of the NSPCC special events team who are organising a glittering summer ball to boost funds.
It is the second year the sisters, along with Faye Guy, another dedicated volunteer, have organised the high-profile event at the White Hart, Lydgate.
And Amanda says: “We really would love the local community to join us and raise much-needed funds for this really worthwhile charity.
“We raised £7,000 last year and, with help, we hope this year’s ball will match that figure. It promises to be a great event.
“The money raised goes towards helping children and young adults in the area. We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team — or anyone who can help make this event a massive success.”
Tickets for the ball on Friday, July 9, cost £35 a head. Call Deborah Sefton, NSPCC fund raising manager on 07967-623 797.
