Dovestone volunteers needed
Date published: 28 June 2010
THE Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is calling for local volunteers to get active and lend a hand at the Dovestone Reservoir beauty spot.
The charity, which took over the management of the site earlier this year, wants volunteers for practical tasks such as felling trees, planting wild flowers and showing visitors the peregrine falcons at Ashway Gap.
Mags Martinez, one of the RSPB team, said: “You don’t have to be a wildlife expert and it doesn’t matter how much time you’ve got — whether it’s just the odd hour, a full day or even a whole month, we want to hear from you.
“The only difficulty might be choosing what you want to do.”
