Four treated following flats fire
Date published: 28 June 2010
FOUR people were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation suffered in a flat fire in Flora Street, Chadderton.
Some residents of Claymore Flats were told to stay indoors as fire fighters tackled burning rubbish in the first floor blaze at around 1am on Saturday.
Watch Commander Mark Beswick said: “Unless the fire is right outside, it is safe enough to stay inside.
“It is only when people come out of the flats and are on the landing that they inhale the smoke.”
