Busman’s holiday
Date published: 29 June 2010
It’s a busman’s holiday for former Oldham Corporation Transport Department staff tomorrow as they head off for Blackpool.
The group, first formed when Oldham had its own fleet of maroon and cream buses at the Wallshaw Street depot, has now changed to include anyone who has worked or is working in public transport at the depot, next to Mumps, the home of First Group’s buses.
The trip to Blackpool is the first since the Wallshaw Street social club, where they used to meet, closed 18 months ago.
