ENERGETIC youngsters across the borough laced up their trainers to mark National Sports Week.
At Oldham Sixth Form College, more than 200 Year 6 pupils from seven local schools tried their hand at basketball, rowing, sprinting and hockey as they competed for prizes.
Cultured students at Holy Cross in St Mary’s embraced traditions from other countries when they learned the Haka, made famous by New Zealand rugby team the All Blacks.
Hula hooping and skipping were on the agenda at Bare Trees in Chadderton while football proved popular at Royton and Crompton.
Year 10 sports students at Saddleworth School organised a day of activities for Year 2 pupils from local cluster schools with events ranging from hurdles to lacrosse.
