POLICE chief Peter Fahy will address residents’ crime concerns when he takes part in his first web chat.
The head of Greater Manchester Police will available from 7pm on Monday at www.gmp.police.uk
Mr Fahy said: “I am really looking forward to this and to giving local people the opportunity to question me directly about policing. We have seen some significant reductions in crime, which is at its lowest level for a decade. But we still need to cut crime further and increase public confidence.
“We are focused on providing the best possible service for the people of Greater Manchester and are committed to delivering our Policing Pledge.
“So speaking to people across Greater Manchester is important at all levels, from neighbourhood policing team to chief constable.
“I hope this goes well and we can then make it a regular opportunity for people to ask me about the issues of the day.”
For people who are not able to go online during the web chat there will be an opportunity to leave questions for the Mr Fahy in advance through the website.
Mr Fahy will not be able to answer questions about specific crimes or incidents but will ensure the information is sent to the right place if it is about the service they have received.
