HIGH Crompton is gearing up for its annual fun weekend of fund-raising and merriment.
It kicks-off with the High Crompton Beer Walk on Saturday, from 6.30pm, starting and finishing at the North Star pub, Rushcroft Road, and taking in the Colliers Return, The Fairview, Waggon and Horses, High Crompton Conservative Club and Black Horse.
Children get their chance to have a giggle on the inflatable assault course derby at St Mary’s Primary School playing fields, off Rushcroft Road, on Sunday, from 1 to 4pm. There will be infant races for four to seven year-olds and junior races for seven to 11-year-olds. There will also be a barbecue and refreshments as well as the usual stalls and entertainment.
The weekend is organised by High Crompton Christian Men’s Fellowship to raise money for good causes. Organisers are hoping for sunny weather to ensure a good turnout.
Harry Batey, said: “It was a bumper turnout for last year’s beer walk and was really well attended with around 20 teams, which is a lot for the High Crompton event. Hopefully it will be a really nice weekend.”
Anyone wanting more details can call fellowship chairman Andrew Evans on 07802-206 393.
