A COMPUTER company has been awarded the Community Service Shield from the Rotary Club of Oldham for its work within the community.
Web Applications UK, based in Lees Road, provides computer system solutions for other businesses.
The company won the award for the work it does providing a mentor scheme and work experience for young people.
It also runs a Microsoft apprentice scheme and staff also teaching students interview skills.
Craig Dean, chief executive, said: “Our company is organically linked to our local community and we support that community from the smallest to the most powerful ones.
“We will continue to invest in our young people, giving them our time, experience and guidance in addition to continuing our sponsorship programme.”
Ray Coverley, from the rotary club, said the award was now in its 11th year and will continue to uncover Oldham companies that go the extra mile in supporting the local community.
