BUDDING chefs at Failsworth School are cooking up a storm after compiling their first cook book.
Recipes feature home-made favourites submitted by students, staff and local organisations.
Over 30 pupils, 20 members of school staff, school governors and 10 local organisations, including the Failsworth Grass Roots project, Oldham Community Leisure and Riverdale Business Services, have taken part.
The school has also organised cookery classes for pupils, school staff and members of the public.
A total of 50 copies of the book have now been ordered and will go on sale at the end of July, priced £10.
All money raised will go to the school’s nominated charities — Oldham Cancer Support Centre, Help for Heroes and the Lazarus Ministries.
Jenny Shepherd, head of food technology and project leader, said: “It has been a really exciting project to do.
“We have already run one evening class and everyone has enjoyed cooking recipes from the book.
“We hope to run another block of five in September.
“We’ve initially ordered 50 copies of the book but hope to order more if they sell quickly.
“We are already thinking about another book with more difficult recipes or even a seasonal Christmas book, book of desserts or dinner party food.”
