Smiles more fun with Dr Kershaw’s meerkats
Date published: 13 July 2010
CELEBRITY meerkat Alex got a true taste of the high life when he accompanied a posse of glamorous girls to their school prom. Alex was guest of honour as pupils from North Chadderton School enjoyed a glittering farewell party at Hotel Smokies Park in Bardsley.
THE Chronicle has linked up with Dr Kershaw’s to have a Summer of Fun with the Royton hospice’s latest fund-raising mascot Alex the meerkat.
The popular cuddly toy has been flying off the shelves as quickly as they can stock them and now we want Chronicle readers to make him an even bigger star — a globe-trotting celebrity. We want readers to buy one of the Dr Kershaw’s meerkats and then take their Alex on trips with them!
Take him on holiday, take him to the places to be seen and send us back your photographs — even get him snapped with celebrities — and then email the picture and some details to the Chronicle.
There are still a few meerkats waiting at Dr Kershaw’s for a new home and a summer holiday.
They cost £7.99 each from the hospice appeals office on 0161-624 9984, or from any of Dr Kershaw’s charity shops in Market Street, Shaw, Royton precinct, and High Street, Lees.
Send your photographs to pictures@oldham-chronicle.co.uk at the highest resolution you can. It’s that simples!
