THE body of Sarah Royle, who plunged to her death from a balcony in Singapore last month, has been brought back to England thanks to the fundraising efforts of family and friends.

Sarah (31) a former pupil at Knowsley Primary in Springhead, fell from a second floor balcony after celebrating England’s World Cup victory over Slovenia on June 23.

She suffered a blood clot on the brain and broken bones and died five days later when her life support machine was switched off.

The insurance company has not yet decided whether they will cover the £30,000 medical costs and an investigation is underway as to how much alcohol Sarah drank on the night of the fall.

A police investigation has now been launched into Sarah’s death which could take up to six months. Third-party involvement has been ruled out.

Officers are analysing photographs from a camera found with Sarah to ascertain her final movements.

Sarah, who moved to Hebden Bridge 20 years ago after leaving her family home in Huddersfield Road, Scouthead, died with her sisters Johanna (35) and Premsa (32), who both attended Saddleworth School, by her side.

A death certificate completed in Singapore cites multiple injuries as Sarah’s cause of death but this could be overruled following a fresh investigation in England.

Sarah’s friends and family rallied round to raise around £11,000 to bring her body home.

Her funeral will be held in Mytholmroyd in West Yorkshire on Wednesday, July 21.
